College Life- A Balancing Act

As a college student, healthy living can be tough. Luckily for me, I don’t drink, so I havn’t had a tough time avoiding the beer-belly, binge drinking worries of many college students. That’s not to say I’m a party-pooper, I totally know how to have a good time, and I have no problem being around drinking/alcohol, I just chose not to partake…no biggie :)

Still, balancing school-work, running, eating, and playing can become overwhelming, and I tend to be a perfectionist…only making it a bit more stressful. I think I’ve found a healthy balance that has allowed me to spend time with my friends, but I also hold my running, healthy diet, and schoolwork as main priorities. I love to get my work done ahead of time to free up time to fit in long runs, sweaty workouts, time to relax with friends, and a little party-time, too :)

I am a very scheduled person, and I am totally into making “to-do” lists and calendars to be sure that I get everything done! I love being busy, and at the same time, I love me some down time, too! It’s taken me a while to get here, and I’ve struggled with over-exercise that threw off a healthy balance of my other hobbies and priorities, but I think I’ve come a ways from there. I’ll have to keep on myself to be sure that I’m not forgetting about the importance of resting my body and just doing nothing, but I am happy with my balance, at least for now!

I’m looking forward to starting yet another year of college! Keep on, Keepin’ On :)

I am a perfectionist and scheduled person as well, sometimes it is so hard to deal with because I feel like everything that I try or do has to be perfect. I am just working on balancing it all! I love your blog btw, I hope you don’t mind if I add you to my blogroll?
