Yogini in the Making- Snacks and Dinner 8.25.08
So I did end up making it out to tennis, and it was HUUUMID! I worked up a sweat in no time, it was actually really gross
I’m a little rusty as I havn’t played much tennis this summer, not nearly as much as I usually do. We had fun hitting around though, and we both were pretty sticky and “funky” after 45 minutes of running around out there.
After running around, Alex and I broke for a snack at his place. I wasn’t thinking ahead, duuhhh, sorry
No pictures of my post-tennis snack, but all of the ingredients are all ones I’ve taken pictures of in the past, so nothing too exciting.
Snack (broken up in 2 parts before yoga) 4-5pm:
Part 1:
1/2c Fage 0%
1/4c Kashi Go Lean!
10 blueberries

Part 2:
Part 2 (see photo) @4:45pm-
1/2c pumpkin puree
1/4c All Bran Extra Fiber cereal
1/4c Almond Milk
1 egg white (hard boiled)

Yoga, once again was fabulous! I really worked during the entire hour and a half practice, and I left feeling strong, stretched, and centered. Love that about yoga! I felt a little on the full side towards the beginning of the practice, but nothing terrible. I was worried that I’d be starving if I didn’t eat that second snack, and I guess I’m thankful that I wasn’t distracted by gnawing hunger…next time I’ll just remember to eat my snack a bit earlier/a bit smaller. Nothing too bad, though
All in all, I’m totally finding myself loving yoga, and I’m excited to strengthen my arms and my core in different ways than just lifting weights at the gym. It’s pretty cool to be able to just use my body weight to increase my core strenght…etc. I love the Vinyasa style, and I’ve been so lucky to have great instructors. I’m totally into it
Returning home at around 7pm, my mom and I jumped into the kitchen to prepare dinner. A bit later than usual dinner times, but I felt totally fine eating a bit later on account of my sizable, high protein snack before hand. Good thinkin’!
For dinner, I was really craving another yummy salad like last night. Unfortunately, my mom and I were sort of rushing around to get plates put together and meals on the table for the rest of the family that I don’t have a picture of dinner…double bummer. I was so eager to have a picture for each meal and snack today, being that I finally figured out my camera..but darn, I guess I was out and about and unprepared. Shoot, I’m getting there- soon, soon for sure!
My salad was loaded with veggies and it really tasted great. Totally refreshing after a “refreshing” yoga practice. I’m thinking one of these salads would make a great lunch paired with a smaller yogurt cup- afterall, gotta have my Fage 0%
My dinner plate was beautiful, darn my lack of pictures! I’ll try to recreate it…

1c lettuce
1 tomato sliced
1/6 cucumber
1 slice tofu
1c raw mushrooms
2 beets (sliced)
1tbs millet (cooked yesterday)
S&P to taste

And that’s that! I’m off to watch the US Open with the fam, and I’ll probably shoot Alex a call in a bit, too. Lovely Monday, it was a great way to start a week!

I’m actually starting to like yoga as well – it’s a great way to stretch out my body properly before and after my dance practices. Glad it’s working for you as well!!
