Lunch Bunch- 8.25.08

2008 August 25

I think I’ve figured out my computer and my camera, woot woot!! I couldn’t tell you what I did or what was wrong with either, but what matters is that (for now) they are both up and running!!

After eating breakfast, I worked a bit on my computer and fiddled with different plugs, chargers…etc.  It works- phew! The sun started to come out, and I was itching to get outside and my day started.  I allowed for my breakfast to digest a bit, and then I decided to head to the gym.  I was toying with running my usual 5k route outside, but I decided that the gym would be a nice little change from the pavement.  I MUCH prefer running outside, but it’d been a while since I ran on the tredmill, and oddly, it sounded like a good idea.

I ran at 6.5 for 10 minutes and than hopped on the elliptical for 10 minutes…can you tell I get bored quickly on these machines :)  I do like the variety that I can add to my workouts, though.  I then walked at high incline for 10 minutes and call it a morning at the gym.

Gym/Cardio Session #1:

Tred: 10 min @ 6.5-7.0

ET: 10 MIN @ 10 incline, level 8

Walked: 5 min @ 4.5, incline, 4.0

*total- 25 minutes at gym.

I debated staying longer to do more cardio and some weights, but I decided to hold off because I know that I’m headed to a yoga class again with my mom later this afternoon.  My arms are still sore from my Vinyasa 2 class over the weekend, so I figure that weights on top of yoga tonight may not be the best idea.  I don’t want to be too tired :)

To help my mom out, I offered to drive up to pick my brother up from his cross country practice.  I left straight from the gym to hit the highway and get him by 10:45.  I refueled in the car with a Keri Bar.  These bars are delicious, especially this Apple Peanut Butter flavor.  Mmmmm :) They’re really tough to find, so I’m glad that I found my grocery store selling them last week- score!  The bar was tasty and filled me up nicely with healthy fats, fiber (5g), and protein (6g)- all around a good post-workout snack.  I also bit into an apple for some additional crunch.  I was really hungry!  I didn’t take a picture of the bar while driving, I was already a little unsure of where I was headed, but I do have a picture of the wrapper and the peach that I sliced up once I returned home with my brother.  I was craving more fruit….odd? Nope!

Snack- Spread out between 10-11am

1 Keri Bar: Apple Peanut Butter flavor

1 small apple (unpictured b/c I’m lame)

1 medium peach

*total: 300kcal

Shortly after my snack I decided to work on my computer and camera a bit more.  Success, I’ve cracked the code- not sure how, but that wouldn’t make sense to me anyways!  So I’ve downloaded the new software and pictures are on there way!

I jumped eagerly into my lunch prep, and I was especially excited knowing that pictures would be documenting this meal- that’s a first!! Inspired by Jenna’s breakfast, I whipped up a really small version of an oatmeal pancake, using only a 1/8c oats and 1/8c egg whites, of course adding in a small amount of baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and 5 raisins.  The mini pancake turned out tasty, but less than picturesque.  No matter, it was a warm, yummy complement to my lunch.

Lunch @1pm:

1 mini-mini oatmeal pancake (50kcal)

1/4c whipped cottage cheese (topped w/ tiny bit of raspberry jam)

_____________

3/4c Fage 0%

3/4c All-Bran Extra Fiber Cereal

3 Almonds (chopped)

1/4c Wheat Bran (see little gray, prep cup to right of large cereal bowl)

1/2c Almond Milk (unsweetened vanilla)

1/2c fresh blueberries

1 bran cracker- shown at side of bowl (16cal/each, low GI & tasty!!)

_______________________

(Pictured alone in small tea cup w/ remaining seltzer)

1/2c pureed pumpkin

1/4c wheat bran

1/4c Almond Milk

and lastly…

WOW- 3 different plates, I told ya I was getting a bit ambitious.  They were all relatively small, but combined left me feeling full and happy :)  Clearly I’m killing these Fage 0% containers left and right, I just am totally loving Greek Yogurt…nothing new there~

*total: 440kcal

I’m hoping to get out to exchange my pedometer at Sports Authority, as I mentioned earlier.  My brother will be home alone, so I also need to keep that in mind if he needs a ride anywhere.  I’m now off to play some tennis with Alex over at his place (aka kick his butt!), but I’m now having trouble getting a hold of him…we’ll see what happens :)

Yoga at 4:30pm w/ mama, more “To-Do” lists to complete, and I’ll be back with posts and pictures!

Cheers!!!
