Gettin’ my lunch on- 8.24.08

2008 August 24

As hoped, my Sunday morning has been relaxing and low key- just what I like :)   Instead of the run that we had planned, my mom and I walked the route, and my brother opted not to join.  He’s just starting cross-country pre-season at his school, and being the only freshman has really worn him out.  Due to some sore “bum muscles”, my mom and I decided that we’d feel better just going for a power walk of sorts.  We walked for a good hour and kept a good pace, it was great to just catch up and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.  After our walk, I cut up a juicy, summer peach (another big one!!) for a snack.  I jumped in the car to the nearby grocery store, after that, and I picked up a few things for upcoming dinner ideas.  I snagged sweet potatoes, dry wheatberries that I’ll prepare this afternoon, millet, a block of tofu, and a few other random requests for my mom.  It was a quick shop, but a successful one, nonetheless.

Snack @ 11:10am:

Peach (2x)

While driving back I was struck with hunger, so I reached into my purse for another peach.  This one was on its last leg, and not nearly as big as the one I had snacked on an hour earlier.  It was a little tough to eat in the car,  probably not the best snack to drive with, but still good, duh!  I made a quick detour into town before returning home to pick up a pair of jeans that I’ve had my eye on for a few weeks now.  Not exactly a necessity, but they are very cute!

So finally, I returned home, unpacked groceries, and thought up something for lunch.

Lunch @1pm:

1 1/4c Fage 0% (165)

1 wheetabix biscuit

1/4c blueberries

2 slices watermelon (yum!! fresh from the farmers’ market)

______

Finished off w/ a 1/2sheet of a graham cracker :)

*total: 450kcal

(reminder, I’m personally not focused on calorie count, as I find it to be incredible time consuming- and I prefer to listen to my body- The totals and measuring, are however,  required for my nutrition course and the mandatory & in-depth dietary analysis)

Now, as is typical of my Sundays, I’m chilling at home and thinking up some plans and making my “To-Do” lists.  I’ve got plenty to think about to get ready to head back to school.  I’m also hankering for another short run to sweat a bit and get my legs pumpin’! I’m totally sore from yoga yesterday, yaaa :)   My mom and I already plan on attending tomorrow night’s Vinyasa 2 class at the same studio!

Happy Sunday- enjoy :)
